"Dierck will be missed. My condolences to his family.
I graduated with Dierck from Akron-Fairgrove High School. He was a fun addition to our class of '77 as I remember him, for the four years I attended there. His father was our guidance counselor and also our pricipal. Like Dierck, his father was a caring person. Once while in school, I was in the hospital and Dierck's dad came and visited me. I'll never forget that or Dierck and his father.
Dierck also delivered parts to my factory so I got to see him once in awhile over the years. I knew he was ill as a fellow classmate had mentioned it to me. I was also told how brave Dierck was near the end. That is something we should all aspire to.
I still must say that I am shocked and feel a great sense of loss that he has passed out of our lives. Please, Dierck's family, take heart that you are not alone in your grief."

"Words can't begin to tell you and your family how so sorry I am to hear about your loss. It has always an inspiration to see the love you two have show to each other. I remember going to that Cher concert with you guys and he was the only male that I knew that was a fan of her's. It will take time to heal but just know that we are all here for you whenever you need us."

"Corky, I was shocked to hear of Dierk's passing. I knew he had cancer, but didn't realize how far along it was.
Debbie let me know tonight of his passing and I will try and find a ride down tomorrow for the funeral. I am on crutches right now waiting or my knee replacement next month. If I don't make it please know that my thoughts and prayers are with all of you!
Nothing can take away your pain right now but please know that I am always here if you need to talk. Or if you (and the girls) need a place to 'get away' we have 81 acres of Paradise up here. You are always welcome!
I will ALWAYS remember Dierck and my homemade wine. He always mentioned it when I saw him and would make me smile. He was larger than life and friendly to everyone. I will always remember him with a smile on his face.
Hold tight to memories for comfort, lean on your friends for strength,
and always remember how much you are cared about.
Revelation 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Blessed indeed,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them!”
Dierck's life was a testament to the blessings he now has with the Lord.
Cathy"
